What is the NDIS?
The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) replaces an old disability system that was out dated and somewhat unfair. It’s a new way of providing support for Australians under the age of 65 who have a permanent and significant disability. The NDIS also provides information to eligible clients, their family, and carers, as well as referrals to existing support services.
The NDIS is currently rolling out across Australia. It became available in the Bayside Peninsula area in 2018, followed by suburbs located in the southern part of Melbourne.
Everyone has different needs and objectives. The NDIS is flexible and allows for tailor-made support. People can manage their own support services in a way to help them achieve their goals.
What is an accredited NDIS support provider?
Living with a disability can have its challenges, however After-Care, an accredited NDIS support provider, can help you achieve your goals. Accredited NDIS support providers are businesses registered with the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency). They deliver support services or products to a person eligible to receive the NDIS.
Becoming an accredited NDIS support provider is not easy. Businesses need to meet certain criteria. They must hold approved professional qualifications. They must meet a strict standard of Quality and Safeguard requirements. They must also submit complex paper-work, including a value proposition. This outlines how the business will engage with clients, understand client needs, and help clients with increased independence, and social and economic inclusion.
After-Care has met and exceeded all these requirements and are proudly an accredited NDIS support provider. For you, this means that After-Care can provide a superior level of service and make it easy to manage your disability support services.
